The Birmingham Innovation Team
Our Vision
The Birmingham Innovation Team is part of a national initiative that supports 25 cities across the U.S. in creating cleaner, more resilient, and economically thriving communities. Our team collaborates with residents, community organizations, and City departments to design local solutions that improve health, reduce energy burdens, and create opportunities for lasting prosperity. We’re currently focused on North Birmingham, a vibrant collection of neighborhoods with deep community pride, rich history, and untapped potential. Together, we’re working to lower energy costs, support home repairs, plant trees, and invest in sustainable infrastructure that reflects the community’s voice and vision. Through bold ideas, shared leadership, and practical action, we aim to build momentum for a stronger Birmingham, starting in North Birmingham and reaching across the city.
